PEACEVILLE RECORDS Confirm MADDER MORTEM Signing
July 26, 2005As BLABBERMOUTH.NET first reported on July 8, Peaceville Records have now confirmed that they have signed Norway's MADDER MORTEM. The group's new album, "Desiderata", which was completed last September, is scheduled for release before the end of the year.
Commented MADDER MORTEM in a statement: "It feels great to finally have settled in our new home in the fabulous town of Peaceville. We have all been great admirers of some of the longtime residents of this eerie homestead, such as MY DYING BRIDE and KATATONIA. Some of the bands have had quite an influence on us, like early MY DYING BRIDE, DARKTHRONE, PARADISE LOST and ANATHEMA. It's an honour for us to include the Peaceville label on our art and we're thrilled to work with this legendary company. This marks a new era in the MADDER MORTEM history, and we're 150% determined to make it the most glorious one!"
MADDER MORTEM recorded "Desiderata" at Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden and at Space Valley Studios. Mastering duties were handled at Strype Audio in Oslo. 12 songs were reportedly recorded for the CD, which is being described as "pretty creepy and dark," with "more experimental and crazy ideas" than its predecessor. Songtitles set to appear on the album include "My Name Is Silence", "Evasions", "Plague On This Land", "M For Malice", "Changeling", "Hypnos" and "Hangman".
MADDER MORTEM were previously signed to Century Media Records.
